OTS Rope Tethers
OTS subsea tethers manufactured from Dextron® 12 Max (DM20) deliver ultra-low creep, low weight, and corrosion-free performance. When failure isn’t an option, choose the tether built to last.
Extended Service Life Through Advanced Protection
OTS subsea tethers are designed to perform reliably in the most demanding offshore environments. Each layer contributes to longevity and durability. The PU-Coating provides a tough, abrasion-resistant and waterproof outer shell that shields the rope from mechanical wear, UV radiation, and chemical exposure. OTS Protective jacket™ reinforces the structure, distributing loads evenly while preventing damage from external contact or handling. Meanwhile, the Soil Ingress Filter acts as a barrier against dirt, sand, and particulate intrusion that could degrade fiber strength over time. Together, these features minimize internal wear, reduce maintenance needs, and significantly extend the operational lifetime of the tether, ensuring consistent performance and safety throughout its service life.

Made with Dyneema® DM20 with ultra low creep performance. DM20 is a UHMWPE based fiber grade from DSM Dyneema with ultra low creep performance, typically used in ropes that are permanently maintained under tension.

The patented chafe gear - OTS Protective jacket™ - offers excellent protection against external abrasion and increases rope lifetime with up to five times. The "no-rupture" construction combined with the worlds most abrasion resistant synthetic fibers, makes this the best cut -and abrasion resistant cover for your ropes. The jacket is mechanically braided onto the rope for a firm and solid finish.
OTS Protective jacket™ is braided in the following combinations:
- Soft eyes
- Soft eyes and required length (for instance over the splices)
- Exposed area on the rope
- Entire rope length
OTS Protective Jacket™
- Made with HMPE or polyester fiber.
- The OTS Protective Jacket™ comes out as a clear winner in comparative testing of abrasion and cut resistance.
- Excellent protection against wear and tear.
- Patented technology
Advantages
- Increases service life.
- Can be braided onto entire rope or exposed areas.
- Prevents rope from twisting.
- Protects rope from external abrasion.
- Reduced size of mooring line.
- Reflective material can be woven into jacket band for better visibility.
- Jacket band can be delivered in any colour.
